Already in antiquity there have been a tremendous amount of different grape types. Each region seem have had certain preferences – whether by choice or coincidence is hard to say.

The predominant grape or a mix of certain grape varieties in a particular region adds to its character and identity.

Being a warm, generous region within a cool climate context, the Pfalz has always grown wide variety of different grapes.

At the Lingenfelder Estate we grow the following :

White Grape Varieties:

• Riesling (40%)
• Scheurebe (10%)
• Müller Thurgau/Rivaner (10%)
• Sylvaner (5%)
• Kerner (5%)

Red Grape Varieties:

• Spätburgunder (Pinot Noir) (20%)
• Dornfelder (8%)
• Portugieser (2%)
