Brilliant, deep ruby colour is quite dramatic. Pristine clarity. Deep, smoky nose. Burst of red fruits – cherries and strawberries – as the wine enters the mouth. Finish is long and saturated with red fruit leading to a finale reminiscent of prunes – this could be the toasty oak rearing its head in this still young wine. The abundance of fruit will allow this wine to age quite nicely, though it is drinking remarkably well even at this early stage. A well prepared steak would complement this wine nicely, though you could also try it with roast fowl or maybe even a rich winter cassoulet.
