The 2000 Dornfelder is lighter and more elegant than the 1999 wines made from this grape. To accentuate this lighter style, the 2000 Dornfelder was aged is large, 100 year old oak barrels instead of new oak barriques. These old barrels no longer add weight and tannins to wine, therefore allowing the 2000 Dornfelder to develop in a lighter style. Try this easy to enjoy wine with pasta or any dish using a tomato based sauce.
