In the very late 1990ies Oddbins staff have helped to develop and launch the “bird-label”. As a matter of fact the name “bird-label” for the Lingenfelder Riesling ( that’s how the wine was originally called ) was a direct responds to a remark from an Oddbins branch manager. He told me that a good customer of his to whom he had recommended and sold a bottle of Lingenfelder Riesling came back to the shop for more of the Riesling with this bird label.
